An affagato is an Italian dessert in which you pour a shot of espresso over gelato or ice cream. Now that’s my kind of dessert!
How to make an Affagato
Obviously, there aren’t many instructions to this recipe. But I can share a few tips to make sure you make the most of this amazingly delicious dessert.
First, chill your glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes before preparing the affagato.
Prepare the espresso to your liking, but make sure it’s strong. I like to use my moka pot, but you can use an espresso machine or even use instant espresso.

Scoop two or three scoops of very cold vanilla gelato or ice cream into the chilled glass. Pour the hot espresso over the ice cream slowly.
Happy Brewing!
